At Charnwood Veterinary Centre we will take care of the healthcare needs of your pet from birth and throughout his or her life. We carry out free health checks on new pets and can advise you on vaccinations, nutrition, flea and worm control and the optimum use of vaccinations.
We have a Pet Health Care Plan, for a small monthly fee collected by direct debit your pet will be provided with annual vaccinations, regular flea and worm control, twice yearly full health checks, and discounts on other services. For further information, call us on 01387 253438.
If your animal falls ill or is injured we will provide the best care for your pet. We have access to modern diagnostic facilities, Ultrasound, Digital Radiography, In house laboratory facilities. We carry out routine and major surgery on site, and if required or requested we can refer your pet to some of the top specialists in the country.
Our premises are centrally located in Dumfries, we have a large accessible carpark and full disabled access. House visits can be arranged if required, but remember, very often the best place your pet can be is at the Centre where we have access to all our facilities.
Our experienced groomers bath, groom and clip all breeds of dog and cat. This is carried out in a purpose built clipping room to the highest standard. Frequently dogs come in for their final beautification before entering the show ring.
Our experienced vets are available to attend to all of your livestock healthcare needs on farm. For emergencies and sick or ailing animals, we will arrange prompt attention. We are a small independent practice, not part of a large chain of practices. Our familiarity with your farms means that we can provide a reliable continuity of care.
Our expertise in dairy, beef and sheep enterprises means we can help you with all your health planning issues. From organising disease prevention through vaccination programmes, lameness and condition scoring, to providing you with a complete health and welfare plan for your enterprise, we are here to help.
For dairy farms we can provide routine visits on a 2 or 3 weekly basis to attend to all your fertility and health cases. Not only is this a chance to examine your animals with our portable ultrasound scanner, but it is also chance to discuss any health problems you may encounter.
Through our strong relationship with Scottish Agricultural College veterinary services in Dumfries, we can provide you with excellent laboratory facilities on your doorstep, and also access to the livestock expertise within the SAC. We are also keen to participate in farmers' own professional development, organising meetings with experts from the livestock healthcare field.
Our 24 hour emergency cover means that you will always receive prompt attention whatever time of the day or night you require us. This will always be carried out by one of the vets working within the practice.
